Ilias Kazantzidis

PhD Student

Personal Profile

Overview

Ilias is a PhD student at the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in Machine Intelligence for Nano-Electronic Devices and Systems (MINDS) of the University of Southampton. He holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace (2018) and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Southampton (2020). His research is on Safe Reinforcement Learning, focusing on methods that use a human-in-the-loop. Ilias’s goal is to build provably safe reinforcement learning agents for safety-critical real-world systems for which plain reinforcement learning would fail. A number of robotic tasks that can benefit from this research.
